The Connect

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026

These terms form a binding agreement between you (and, where applicable, the organisation you represent) and CEFA regarding your use of The Connect. By creating an account or using the platform you accept them. You confirm you are at least 18 and, if acting for an organisation, authorised to bind it.

Subscriptions and trials: Individual and Corporate plans include a 7-day complimentary trial; Government / MDB plans a 60-day trial. A valid payment card is required to start. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the plan converts to a paid annual subscription and renews automatically each year until cancelled; you may cancel anytime and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated.

EU/UK and other consumer withdrawal rights: where you subscribe as a consumer and a statutory right of withdrawal applies, you may withdraw within the applicable cooling-off period; by starting the service during that period you acknowledge it may be delivered before the period ends. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

Acceptable use: the platform is licensed for your internal institutional decision-making. You may not scrape, resell, sublicense, or redistribute data except under a separate written white-label or API agreement, and you may not use the platform unlawfully or to infringe others' rights.

Intellectual property: the platform, its software, and its compiled intelligence are owned by CEFA or its licensors; source records remain attributable to their originating official and licensed sources.

No professional advice: intelligence is provided on a best-efforts, source-attributed basis and does not constitute legal, financial, investment, or tax advice; you are responsible for your own decisions.

Disclaimers and liability: to the fullest extent permitted by law the platform is provided "as is"; we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death, personal injury, or fraud), and some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this clause may not apply to you.

Termination: you may cancel at any time; we may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or the law.

Governing law and disputes: these terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CEFA is established, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence; the courts of that jurisdiction have non-exclusive competence. Contact: legal@thecefa.org.
